I appreciate finding you via Yuval. I found out 6 weeks ago that the Holocaust is a mandated part of the curriculum where I live in Victoria, Australia. Teachers can access resources created via the Gandel Foundation. John Gandel is an Australian billionaire who is also the biggest supporter of Birthright here. I was so uneasy when I found out, and you have provided me with context and language so I can now write a letter to teachers unions, local councillors etc. to express my concerns.
In my honest opinion, you would only see it as vague if you're ill informed about this entire Israeli occupation of and genocide of Palestine/Palestinians situation. He was nitpicking as a defense mechanism that society brainwashed into him and that simply isn't anyone's issue but his to deal with.
