Not sure how much you've already thought about the mutual aid part, but maybe we could even donate to orgs that share a similar message/purpose of the books we're reading? Like, for the Parable series, we could donate to a sustainability/clean energy org that supports underrepresented communities. Not sure if this is something we could necessarily do for every book but just an idea.
Also I would love the free books resources! I have a PDF of the New Jim Crow I can share.

I don't have discord but I'm so excited! I've had a library card everywhere I've ever lived. I've struggled with reading the last few years but this has me excited to read again ✨️
Sooo excited, I've been in desparate need for a book club! Also I'm sure lots of you have heard of Libby, but if not its a free app that you can access books and audiobooks for free, just need a library card (also free!). Some books, depending on how popular they are, have a longer wait so keep that in mind
