Hello, My Loves,
I recorded a video sharing my personal thoughts on the TikTok ban, and I included a poll at the bottom asking if you’d like some casual social media tips. Well, 89% of you voted yes!
Let me start by saying: I AM NO EXPERT. I’m still learning every single day when it comes to social media. However, looking back at what I’ve accomplished with my socials over the past three years, I feel confident enough to share what I know.
Here’s how I think I’ll approach this series: I’ll share casual, bite-sized tips for free subscribers, and for the paid tier, I’ll create more in-depth videos breaking down specific strategies. If you have questions, feel free to send them my way—they might spark new ideas for future posts (especially when I hit a creative block, lol).
For the first post in this series, here’s the first tip:
Consistency Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
Learn what consistency means for you. A lot of people starting out on YouTube or other platforms don’t realize there’s no universal formula for success. You have to experiment and figure out what works best for reaching the community you want to connect with.
Many “YouTube help” channels will tell you to post at least once a week to play the quantity game. That advice can work—if you can realistically keep up with that schedule. In my first year, I tried posting weekly, but life happens, and I couldn’t always meet that goal.
Eventually, I realized that for the type of content I wanted to create—at the quality I aspired to—I needed more time and space. When I was posting weekly, I often rushed through production just to meet a deadline, and in doing so, I sacrificed the quality of my videos.
Here’s the lesson: Never sacrifice production value for the sake of “just putting something out.” Your vision for your content matters, and your audience will respect that.
Consistency isn’t about chasing aspirational goals; it’s about being realistic with yourself. Take stock of your real-world responsibilities and create a posting schedule that works for you, not against you. Whether that means daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly posts, what truly matters is delivering quality content. If it’s good, your audience will wait for your next video.
So take your time, be deliberate, and remember: this journey is about aligning with your goals, not someone else’s.
Now let’s get to it!
