-3.5/5 Stars. This is a low rating for an Octavia Butler book, but I can only judge it against her other books. This book took me a lot longer to get through than the others. I think there were clear points in this book that I thought were filler. The story itself was incredible, but I felt like it could be a bit slow at times.
