I am writing this post on October 7th, 2024, sitting in my bedroom, reflecting on everything that has transpired over the past 365 days. So much has changed in my life, and yet, the Palestinian people continue to fight for their right to be seen as human on the world stage.
It’s deeply unsettling to see how far the system will go to defend the indefensible. It makes you question yourself and everything you thought you knew about how the world should work. The key is to never believe what is proclaimed—always believe what is done. They never speak to you directly unless they stand to gain something from it. You’re taught what they want you to know, expected to act how they want you to act, and conditioned to believe what they want you to believe.
All it takes is asking “why?” one time, and the lie of Western superiority and centrality in the narrative begins to crumble.
Season 2 of Bloodstained is about genocide, a topic I had planned for this season even before my controversy. That’s why I stood by what I said so firmly—because I had already started my research process. One of the main things I’ve noticed is that, in every instance of genocide in the 21st century, the United States either turned a blind eye or actively supported it.
Genocide is crucial for the system in place to keep moving forward. They need it to continue. The system is working exactly as it was designed to.
I can’t fully explain it, but I feel like a change is coming—I feel it deep in my bones. The Palestinian resistance has ignited something, inspiring so many to get involved. I just wish the fight of the marginalized didn’t come at such a high cost.
Rest in peace to all those who have been martyred—all the innocent lives lost fighting for their right to exist.
